Great care should be taken with use of Poke due to the potency of its actions. Pregnant and nursing women should avoid Poke. Seek expert medical advice before taking while using other medications, or if you have pre-existing health conditions. It should not be used by those who have lymphatic cancer. In large doses Poke has narcotic properties and slows cardiac contraction, decreases respiratory activity, and depresses the central nervous system. Indications of toxicity are prolonged vomiting, muscle spasms, and gastrointestinal irritation, and usage should be stopped immediately. Keep out of reach of children
